TLC: Tutoring and Learning Center

At the Tutoring and Learning Center, you have a range of academic learning aids to help you navigate your journey. TLC supports you to develop your basic academic skills so that you can achieve your goals and be successful in your courses.
The TLC is offering tutoring seven days a week.
WHAT SUPPORT CAN YOU FIND AT THE TLC?
TLC helps you strengthen these core skills to support you in any course you’re taking at George Brown:

Academic language and writing skills (e.g. essays, reports, referencing)

English as a Second Language, or ESL (e.g. conversation, grammar, reading comprehension)

Math and Statistics

Accounting

Learning and study skills
HOW CAN YOU USE THE TLC SUPPORT?
There are many ways you can access TLC support. These include:

One-on-one tutoring

Drop-in sessions

Workshops

Weekly learning groups and study sessions

Course-embedded tutorials

Online resources

On-site resources (handouts and practice materials)
How to get started with the tutoring and learning center
Register: Before you can book an appointment, you’ll need to register for an account.
Book: All appointments are booked online, via our booking system.
Prepare:

Tutoring at the TLC is provided at no extra cost to all students currently enrolled at George Brown College.

This is a booked 30-60 minute appointment, either in-person at one of our TLC locations, or online through face-to-face video tutoring. You and the tutor work together on whatever skill area you’ve identified. You can book up to 1 hour of tutoring per day and per subject (English, math, accounting or study skills), to a maximum of 3 hours per week per subject.
